ANTITHESES

Young people and researchers working together for a better future!
What?
Our research looks at Radical Value Disagreements (RVDs) – big arguments that split our society because of our core beliefs and worldviews. We want to understand how young people see these disagreements, how they happen in daily life, and how we can create tools to help navigate them. Our main question is: ‘What do we owe future generations?’
The project
Is part of a bigger research effort at the University of Oxford, funded by the Wellcome Discovery Platform called ‘Oxford Ethics & Humanities’.
Helps us understand RVDs and their roots, aiming for a more inclusive view of what matters to young people today, and why.
Creates new tools to support collaborative research with voices, values, and problems that are often overlooked.
Why?
The world seems to be getting more divided, especially on topics like climate change, mental health, and identity. Experts are working hard on these issues, but they often miss the perspectives of young people and marginalized groups. We need to bring in more diverse viewpoints and new tools to tackle these challenges effectively.
How?
Co-design: Young people regularly meet with our researchers to shape and drive this project, by designing everything – from concepts and topics to surveys and strategies – together!
Experimentation: We try out different exciting ways of interacting with some of the most challenging questions of our society today!
Tool development: We imagine, build, test, and launch our own new research tools!
Throughout the project, we work together for a more inclusive way to do research, aiming for a better future for everyone. Join in!
