From a simple word document to a fully functioning website and Instagram profile…. Our new identity and ‘digital home’ was a team effort.
The second year of the covid pandemic proved to be another challenging year for everyone on many levels. On the bright side, we’ve powered through and ‘done’ a lot.
Our research uses large health databases where any identifying information has been removed before we access it.
Our research group have developed a new digital self-help programme for people with recurrent binge eating. We are trying to work out how best to research whether this new treatment works.
At the end of the summer we welcomed four enthusiastic young people from Year 12 and 13 to participate in a packed week of ‘virtual’ research work experience (and some on-line socialising) at the end of their long, ‘unusual’ summer.
We ran our second annual virtual work experience week collaborating with 10 young people, aged 16-19 years, from our NeurOX Young People Advisory Group (YPAG).
Over the Summer, I was involved in writing a review on the knowns and unknowns of antidepressants in young people aged 14-24.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic our YPAG members have been involved in at least 14 digital YPAG meetings so far between March and August this year (2020).
This presentation covers widening research participation and diversity in YPAGs (the link will open a PDF).
