A Young Voice Behind the Nature Study: Aanya’s Experience

Young people play an important role in shaping research, not just as participants, but as active contributors. As part of a Nature Study at the University of Reading, members of the Young People’s Advisory Group (YPAG) were involved in supporting the development of study materials.
In this short video, Aanya shares her experience of working with researchers leading the study.

Reflecting on her involvement in the project, Aanya said:
“I had an amazing time collaborating with researchers from the Universities of Oxford and Reading. I worked with them to edit and make changes to a script before having my voice recorded reading it. It was so interesting to hear about the study they are organising and such an incredible chance to put forward my own ideas and take part in this fascinating opportunity.”
This collaboration highlights the value of involving young people in research as active contributors, helping to shape how studies are designed and communicated.
